Vera Wang was born in China in 1949 to an affluent family and she attended the best schools and received her degree in art history from Sorbonne in Paris. Her father owned a chemical company, her paternal grandfather was a general in the Chinese Army and her maternal grandfather was a warlord in China. She worked as the Editor for Vogue before working as Ralph Lauren?s Assistant, and eventually opening her own business in 1990 at the Carlyle hotel in New York. Since that day she has attained incredible success with her trademark wedding gowns, for people such as Sharon Stone and other celebrities. She has also created figure skating outfits for Olympians such as Michelle Kwan and others.

However, this powerful woman did not stop there. Vera Wang perfume came after she created fashion lines of dresses, ready-to-wear clothes, footwear , eyewear ,earings ,necklaces , bridesmaid?s gowns, and dinnerware , as well as several other products. Finally in 2002 she introduced her first perfume. Since then it is considered the perfume for a woman?s most special day. This perfume is a steady example of elegance, beauty, and femininity. It has the staying power and will to be around for a long time to come.
