Christian Dior Perfume
The very first Christian Dior perfume was called Miss Dior and premiered in 1947. Christian Dior was a pioneer of the couture in Paris in 1946. He was a leader in fashion and wanted to take his designs step further by creating a perfume to wear with his fashion creations. However, his perfume line was definitely a second thought and did not get much of his attention. The next woman’s perfume from Christian Dior did not come out until 1956. It was named Diorissimo. The first men’s Christian Dior cologne was named Eau Sauvage and appeared in stores ten years later in 1966. Since the 1980s, Christian Dior has come out with many more lines of fragrances for men and women. The total collection now contains thirty five different scents. Christian Dior used bases that could be categorized in oriental, chypre, or floral and focus on the classic lines that inspired Christian Dior in the 1940s. Christian Dior perfumes for men include Dior Homme, Dune for Men, Eau Sauvage, Eau Sauvage Extrême, Eau Sauvage Vaporisateur Prestige, Fahrenheit, Higher by Dior, Higher Energy, and Jules. The Christian Dior men’s fragrances range from aromatic, to woody, to citrus to give the man a choice in the classic scents of times gone by. The two newest perfumes by Christian Dior focus on bringing back the classic scents but by adding a touch of modernism. Dior Homme for men and Dior Star for women seem to epitomize the classic era of the 1940s that are as cutting edge as Christian Dior fashions. The third new Christian Dior perfume is Miss Dior Cherie. It is classic and playful and created for the new young lady that knows when to be good, and when to be mischievous. If Christian Dior perfume continues on its recent trend, the world will see more new fragrances coming from the Christian Dior line of fragrances. Some are brought out as limited editions, and some are older scents given a lively new aroma to correspond with the new world that is coming into being. It would not do for the Christian Dior perfumes to remain static. They need to be innovated just like their founder.
