Anna Sui was born in 1955 in a suburb of Detroit, Michigan. She knew as a child that she wanted a place in the world of fashion, fragrance, and beauty.
Throughout her youth, she designed, first for her dolls and later for herself. This stong woman's success in fashion and perfume design is largely due to her refusal to let anything sway her from her goals.
Anna Sui - Realization of a Dream
Anna Sui opened her first boutique in 1992. Her shoe collection premiered on the runway in 1997 and two years later, she launched Anna Sui perfumes, finally realizing her childhood dream.
Anna ushered in the millennium with her second perfume, Sui Dreams. The oriental base and soft vanilla fragrance of Sui Dreams perfume encourages the contemporary woman to listen to her inner voice and trust her instincts. Sui Dreams is a perfume made for the woman who is sure of herself and unafraid to rely on her intuition.
In 2002, Sui Love came to the public as Anna Sui Perfumes tribute to the sixties. Anna Sui pulls much of her inspiration from the time when the slogan was "Make love not war". Anna's floral perfume, Sui Love, exemplifies the era of "Flower Power".
Perhaps remembering her first "customers", Dolly Girl was the next Anna Sui perfume to be released. Dolly Girl is a fragrance immersed in the sweet, loving, and nurturing attributes of femininity, traits that continue to linger as part of the contemporary, multi-faceted woman.
